Q: Between eBay and Bring-A-Trailer, which platform would you use to buy a replica 356, and which would you use to sell?

I bought my Speedster through eBay long ago and that went well as I'm comfortable with eBay. I'm just now getting into Bring-A-Trailer and it seems their format is fetching better rates. Gaining a few thousand by spending a few hundred on a pro photographer is good ROI, if that's what's making the difference. Or is it that the more serious car shoppers are trolling BAT?

What's your experience?

I personally do not like the auction euphoria of BAT or other sites even if as a seller it might be better for you if you have a higher end car in terms of fit and finish.  Some have expressed concerns and have issues with the rules, and the choices of BAT in listing or not of their cars and that the buyer pays quite an upcharge to them in fees, but to each his own.
