Could use some assistance. Installing new e-brake cables and the springs seem much longer than the original. See pic. Do I simply need to put a load on then when I set the cable length or does anyone shorten the springs in some manner? It's a pretty good pull to get them semi-straight.

Have you shortened the emergency brake cable? - same as the pan was shortened, the E-brake cable has to be shortened.
That is the correct install as you adjust the E brake cable nuts it will take up that slack i.e. the cable will be under slight tension.
Thanks Alan... That's what I needed to know. The ones that came out were obviously compressed and no longer had this much tension. Wanted to get some feed back before I did anything and shortened the cables.
Wolfgang... I have not. I have the shortening kit to install. Just wanted to make sure these springs were correct.
