Just did a Gen 7 Accel DFI conversion on my 2 four barrel 57 Tbird. It now runs unbelievably. Low end feels like a big block and runs smooth as silk. I have another computer and am thinking about my daughter's 1776 IM. She is still using it as her daily driver and with the twin webbers it is always a little rich and with no chokes is a bit of a handful to drive until it is warm. Anybody done much with this??

I, also, am sick of screwing around with my Weber carbs. I was considering rebuild kits ,but am also wondering how difficult and/or affordable fuel injection would be. I would appreciate any input, pro or con. Do they all require a lot of electronic or computerized stuff? It's not a street rod. I just want smooth ,reliable, and affordable. Thanks, Al
Chris and I will be running EFI on the 1.8 watercooled in the new kit, but I don't yet know which EFI Chris'll choose. Most of the systems he's been using get mapped via his laptop (in the shop) or a Palm V (at the track) and I simply don't know how adaptive they are (if they can "learn" an engine, etc.)

Al: The so-called "Summer Nationals" in 'Wusta' have become a lightweight, muscle-car, burn-out extravaganza which has a ticket price of close to $40 big ones for everything for the weekend. Very little there to interest me and certainly not at that price. I cruised down into the City on the 4'th and, apart from the small area where the flame-outs were, it was pretty empty. Not like years past when they would expect 4,000 Hot Rods and the downtown area looked like "American Graffiti". Too bad.....

On a related note, NOPI (the street/track "Tuner" organizers) have now cancelled all remaining events for the rest of 2008, citing lack of particiation (read that, 'nobody shows up for our events'). Reasons given were economic conditions and the high pice of gas.
