Hi my name is mack from emerald performance in Florida .I went to a so where there was some Porsche 350 & 356 there and talking to some of the guys there they say that EFI is not the way to go with this car .
why is this ?

if you have EFI on a old car do you not get any street cred for this ?

The EFI is a good idea, but there seems to be some questionable products out there. Good systems are more than good, they are great. Poorly conceived systems are a joke and you are better off with carburetors.

As far as "street cred" goes, you need to think of the group you are hanging with. Some people are impressed and readily accept new technology, others are far more traditional in their preferences.

It comes down to this. What really matters is that what you choose works well (carbs vs efi) , is dialed in properly, runs reliably, and that you like it.

Yesterday, I finally got the chance to take my IM for a decent two hour drive. I'm really starting to warm up to my CB fuel injection. Besides the cold start issue, the car ran flawlessly. Just to see what would happen, I purposely let the revs drop down to 2000 rpm, in fourth gear, and then floored the gas pedal. The engine didn't cough, stutter, or backfire. She pulled through the rev range without a hiccup. I still have a slight bog when I give the gas pedal a quick jab, but I think that can be dialed out with some laptop tuning.
