elec. problems

ok when amp meter is put on my kit car speedster it reads neg volts not poss. like it should be but car starts drives good just won't keep a charge have to switch out battery once a week or so. i've changed volt reg-gen. all new tried reverse polarize still same neg reading...HELP

Are you sure the DF and D+ are correct from the Gen to Reg and not reversed? Regulator fried? Did you charge the battery reversed or jumped reversed by mistake?

Unlike an Alternator, a generator doesn't charge much at idle - does your AMP gauge show positive charge at 2500 RPM or still negative?

Hey i have seen a battery put in backwards Not to say you made a mistake, But it does happen If a generator is polarize backwards you may as well junk it and get another. I have one here that was swapped out for a alt that is almost new I don't need it or want it. If ya need it please just cover the shipping and maybe a donation to this site in my name.and it's yours..

But me. I'd want a alternator. i also have a chrome plated 75 amp one setting a mr vestals and asked him to try and sell it worth $250.oo I think ..

We would be glad to get rid of it for $200..minus shipping ..I did not want a chrome one.. my cars are done like factory Vw 's I opt.ed up to a 95 amp alt's because of my heaters. Now I'm told you can even go 150 Now
