This is a 1955 Porsche Speedster body fitted onto a modified Baja Bug frame and fitted with enough battery racks to handle 10 110ah 12v flooded lead acid batteries (120v). The buildup of this electric car took a few years and it was done over a decade ago when these things were only just imagined. This is 100% custom.
Since then it has received one new battery bank, a new transaxle, front end, steering, tires, and brakes. The range on a new bank of batteries is 35-40 miles.
On the other hand it needs a very small amount of attention. For one, the battery bank is due up for another replacement. Also, it has been stored in a warehouse where it has been scratched a little and the paint job needs a good buffing. The interior door handle is broken (easy fix). The speedo needs to be reconnected. The interior is good, but not great. You can see from the pictures it's a very presentable little car. It has been used in many parades and "alternative energy" expos and fairs. It has had some regular driving in the summers but not since 2008. The last time I parked it everything worked. The blinkers are not working and the brakes need bleeding. Small things like that are nothing compared to the $40k+ that was invested in this vehicle. The charge controller (Zivan 110v) is worth $2000 alone. Tough times forces quick sell.
There are too many details to list so please give me (Drew) a call at (707)498-oo29.

...maybe if they had put as much thought into their hubcap selection as they did into battery conversion...
even the pot growers are feeling the recession...err. economic slump

Wish I had a little loose dough. I'd recycle the batteries, pull the controller and make Allen a deal the body.
Have to save those nifty wheel covers though!

Wonder what the weight is on that thing with those lead boat anchors?
Sorry Angela, If I don't get those one off wheel covers with the body, it's no deal ... ~Alan
Look at the hood prop rod and that will give some incite into the quality of this conversion.

Yeah I about snorted the water out of my nose when I saw the hood prop! Baby you just KNOW the axles/brakes and steering are done to a super high standard - LOL!
Push it on the trailer (okay, drag it with a huge electric winch due to the battery weight), take it home and take the body off the pan for a rebuild.
