Does anyone know how the Porsche emblems attach to the car? Are they different by make? I purchased a 2007 build IM speedster about 2 weeks ago and am looking to remove the emblems. Looks to me like what I have was stuck on with a sticky film to the back of the emblems. Does that make sense? Thanks George

Original (at least old) ones have pins in back and originally required drilling holes in fiberglass, sealing around those holes and hot glue or silicon to hold on. You can cut the pins off and mount with double sided 3M body emblem tape - no drilling and they can be removed. You can remove by using 20-30# fishing monofiliment line - just use it as you would a saw blade to cut the foam tape. Paint could be different color underneath plus something like mineral spirits/WD40/Goof off will be needed to carefully remove the sticky goo.
This is a bit off topic.....I want side emblems, but not the kind that need drilling into the car's body. Does anyone have a link to a site(s) that sell stick-on emblems suitable for our cars?

Like Wolfgang said. Just buy the emblems you want and clip the pins so they are very short do not protrude past the back edges of the emblem. Then glue them to the emblem and then silicone the emblem to the car. Easy peasy and no holes in the car.

Thanks WOLFGANG. After looking carefully, I think I have some with pins and some without. I think I will try to take off the ones without first and see what happens. George
I want it even easier; just peel and stick.
If you use the 3M tape - apply it to emblem with snipped pins then use sharp razor or EXACTO hobby knife to trim excess tape. Not EZ-Peasy but can do in front of foot ball game.
Use 3M Automotive Tape. Glue will ruin your paint!! I just rebaged mine and they came out perfect. I cut the pins off from the emblems then used a hand grinder to take the nubs down flush. I then shaped the emblems so that they fit perfectly across the surface with no flex. I then sanded the back side of the emblems so the 3M tape would adhere more effectively. I used 3M 1/2 inch automotive tape then used an exacto knife to trim. Use rubbing alcohol to clean the surface before sticking the emblem on. You can remove the emblems later if needed using either fishing line or dental floss with no harm to your paint!
I bought mine at Sierra Madre Collection. If your car is worth it then spend the $$$!
