The picts are stunning on the web, I think they treated them with some sort of gloss filter because they look like liquid paint, or metal ...
Beautiful car, but a coupe, not a cabriolet, or am I missing something.
1964? Cabriolet? Boy, they REALLY do custom work.
Insanely beautiful paint in Silver, but $100K more for the same car in black?
I know Black is really hard to make look perfect, but $100K??
That's one whole lot of rubbing.
That is some serious paint, but how do they keep the quicksilver from dripping off the car?
Right Tom. That would be the outlaw of outlaw deals to make a cab a tin top.
Ya'll know how I feel about silver. That's SILVER. I'm in love.
The above silver and mentions black 356 are featured in a Jay Leno garage episode.
Check out this video on YouTube:
...let's see, for $350K, a person could buy 10 of Kirks cars and hire someone to wax each one...for years to come...
Yes, you could, but that is one lovely outlaw coupe.
I think for that kind of coin, In the near future I may consider building one out of fiberglass and go for a measly 40 % :~)
Well imagine that coin and no bumpers either
Yeah, and I'll bet it doesn't have bluetooth either.
Alan, there's a guy in the Netherlands who's selling the molds for a fiberglass 'A' coupe...uuhm?
They're here now...
Just wait until you guys see my 356 outlaw...in silver :-)
I like silver or grey, Made by whom? Ray
By whom? If it's in Anand's garage, I'd assume it was made by some German dudes 60+ years ago and customized by Anand.
Carey is one of those guys you just wish you could hate -- he's good at everything! He does absolutely incredible work.
Once the car is assembled with the plexi windows, GT seats, carrera wheels and dry sump carrera oil tank, and 4 cam shroud, and first POLO motor, I'll post more photos.
Cheers,
Anand
Gaps are very nice, well done !
POLO motor? As in, Polo Moto?
I think this is what he is talking about.... John Willhoit talked about this engine on JayLeno...

- 2.4L 911 motor converted into a 4 cylinder “Polo” motor (valued at $30,000)
UPDATE
Here is the real link... http://www.polomotor.com
yep -- Caretech has it right.
Chuck Beck and Dean Polopolus (thus the name POLO) were simultaneously developing this motor from a 911-6; Porsche had tried to do it themselves but were unsuccessful. Fits perfectly in the back of a 356, displacements up to about 3L.
Rod Emory owns the first one built by Dean, I own the one (and only) built by Chuck. Mine is 2.3L, approx 220-230 hp, IIRC. Twin plugged.
