Anyone ever see EMPI 8's on a speedster?  If so do you have a photo?

I think I have seen a couple with EMPI 5's, but not with 8's.

If you paint the 8 spokes body color what do you guys think?  Crap choice or could it work?

I would like to do something different than Porsche 5 lug...which I see a lot of.  I want my ride and rims to be non standard and different...sort of show car style vs authentic Porsche right.

Give me your opinion...crap choice for a rim or could be cool?

Deep dished torque thrusts would be cool and different. Deep dished sprintstars would be unique as well.

yeah didn't think of the offset and how deep they have to be to get the tire out to the wheel arch.  Good catch...

I'll need to look around some more I guess.  Thanks

^^^ What Terry said ^^^ IIrc those are 5 1/2" wide and aren't nearly enough wheel, nor can you put enough tire on them to begin to fill out the wheel wells.  6 or 7" wheels on the front with 205's and 7's or 8's with 225's or 245's on the back would fill out the wheel wells adequately (I think). As Terry said, torque thrusts would look good. Al

Something like this...but a lot wider.

Actually IF I wasn't doing a WIDE BODY...then that look is exactly what I would have gone with and with the WHITE WALL tires as well.

I think that look is "THE" cleanest look and really has even more "POP" than a chrome/polished option.

Just looks soooo clean and retro on a speedster.  On a wide body...might look funky???

Anyone got a pic of a Wide Body with baby moons???

When the time comes (not soon enough) I'm going to have the guy on Thesamba do the widened slotted rims and do the original Porsche nipple caps (think that's what they're called -sorry if I've offended anyone) for my wide body.

Still unclear on the rim diameter though. Some 14, 15... Would love to know why someone would go one over the other.

I knew that was GM bolt pattern...and American racing...(pats self on back).  Just been around cars too long i guess.  Is that a NITROUS bottle under the front hood???

I think these will be the ones I go with...does anyone know...do they make a HUB for a Type 1 that comes with a GM 5 bolt pattern.

I dont want to use an adapter plate, it would work but I dont want the added stress on the hub.  I would rather buy the hubs in VW coversion kit from a manufacturer and install them new read to go.

On a WIDE BODY...you got to go 15's.  Maybe even 16's if they got em.  My opinion of course...but on a wide body in order to get the "WOW factor" you got to fill up the wheel arches!

If you have a disc/drum combo you can get new rotors and drums with a Chevy bolt pattern, or buy blanks and have your local machine shop do it for you.

I would not recommend that anyone run adapters on their car.

Alan, When you say "super wide body", is that different than just a wide body?  Is it just a description?  Great car by the way!!!  That is a Vintage body right?

I know by doing my research that Vintage Speedster's wide body "body mold" is different than most other bodies.  Vintage has the wheel arch profile starting more up on top of the rear quarter with a smooth transition to the wheel opening.

Some other kits have more of a "fender flare" style, where the wheel arch starts and then there is another body line created by another flare or transition.

You can see the difference in the red car and white car in this thread.

I prefer the Vintage body style.
