Anyone ever try to fit the Empi Louvered firewall kit for a T1 in a CMC or other? Looks like it would dress up engine compartment and increase fire protection at same time. It's stainless steel so no China chrome rust within a week!

Yeah - its the width that had me concerned - can always make smaller. Guess could fill either side if necessary. Just don't have bug handy to measure width (and height - but not as great a concern).

Cory - make great progress over when you and Kelly helped on it. I'll definately be at Carlisle this year. We may have a demo project there installing top and tonneau - but shine or NO shine I'll be there.
I'll try putting it out in the sun again.

A while ago I tried putting it in the sun for several days trying to get the wrinkles out. That wasn't totally successful so I bought a steamer and tried using that on the underside. I wish I hadn't done that because it took some of the black color out. Of course, not many people will see the underside of my tonneau but I will know.

It seems to be short to the rear of the door opening. I think this is at least partly due to me using tenax fasteners instead of snaps and they are farther from the edge than snaps would be.

I think Viagra takes about 45 minutes. Five or 10 minutes may not be long enough.

Wolfgang,

Did you try this approach ?  I couldn't find any further posts on this technique, so I was wondering if you (or anyone else) had given this a try ?
