Engine alternatives ?

Hey folks, I'm thinking of getting a flared fender kit from Vintage and I was wondering if anyone has tried to stuff a Subaru 2 Liter Quad Cam Turbocharge Flat Four Motor into one, I know you can get the adapter for the transaxle and the complete motor with custom wiring harness and stuff. These engines have been setup for sandrails. I can get a complete engine setup @ 275 hp and 250 ft lbs torque for $4750.00 that also includes plug and play Haltech Fuel injection. Any thoughts, and I hope this doesn't rub the purist folks the wrong way I'm just looking for reliable performance at a reasonable price, I've owned a couple of Subaru and I couldn't kill the motors. I think it would be awesome... maybe too much 8). It has been done and the guy (in Europe) has done an awesome job documenting his project on line. Detailed pictures and instructions for the complete idiot. He is quite a aftermarket engineerer though. Me, I think a turbocharged wankel is another great route because of the weight savings.
