With the right builder, let your imagination run wild......I run a CB Perf 1915cc, and it delivers dependable performance and service.....
But, like most who buy these cars, I wish I'd gone larger.....

Just remember, as HP goes up, you need to upgrade things, like tranny ratios and internal strengthening, possibly better brakes, maybe an external oil cooler....Etc., Etc.,Etc.

Take a close look at what you want from the car, and with your bank account as your guide, go for it.....

All this is probably "OLD HAT". So Scan as many of the old Posts as you can, and good luck....

I have to say that I would agree with Angela.

18000 miles on Subaru's in the past 6 years, and not a single
drive line issue.

Plus the purchase price would be substantially lower if you
look closely. Additionally, if you should chose to go with
turbo power, even that engine would be relatively inexpensive.

Larry Jowdy indicates that there is a way to connect the
Subaru engines to the most common VW trans as well, adding
to the practicality.

Take a look at posts on Spyder Club.

PS my engine is a CB.
It could sound like a monkey humping a garbage can and I'd forgive it if it runs out like a Subie runs out - LOL!

I was really surprised how nice the subie sounds like with a good exhaust. We're going to build two speedsters - subies in both.

The best sound? A 911 in a spyder! Hey - you saw that coming, right?
