wanted to ask where i can buy the black paint used in the engine compartment used by vintage speedsters.
tired calling vintage a few times, voicemail picks up.
so maybe i can get the answer here before they call me back.
its a black paint with white flakes/specs.
cutting some holes into the plywood firewall and want to paint the exposed ply wood edges.

Eastwood has grey/black splatter trunk paint. Might try Advance Auto/O'Reillys too.

Looks good but is not gas resistant and will lift and run, the Advance and Auto Zone paints are somewhat soft even when dry, a clear top coat will help.
Huh? you have a wood firewall?
you would probably notice a significant difference if you put sound deadening on the engine compartment panels. something that is not flammable.

i called kirk and he said its just trunk paint from autozone or anyone of these auto supply stores.

i might just have you do mine 
They use black and gray trunk spatter from Advance Auto. I couldn't find it at any of them so I got it from NAPA and it matched perfectly.
