I am taking my car tomorrow to a specialist...actually a real cool guy who used to race real Porsche cars and has been around vws and porsche forever. He is a friend of a friend of Corey's here in Jacksonville. Hopefully we can fix this missing, popping, blah blah blah that is going on.

Here is my question. I have emailed Kirk and not gotten a response yet, but need to know if any one has electronically what VS would have used in the motor compartment. It is a 1600CC motor and assuming it is bone stock. Built in 2000. I asked Kirk a while back if he had the build sheet and gave him original owners name and he said no.

Does anyone have anything the can send on something like this? Obviously I can go online and pull together some stuff probably, but that stuff may not be what Kirk uses so if anyone has something from VS, I would appreciate it!

Thanks

Todd

what exactly are you looking for? If it's bore and stroke, then a 1,600 has 85.5 mm pistons and a 69mm stroke and it's actually 1,584 cc's. VW thought that it sounded more like a Porsche 356/912 engine if they called it 1,600 cc's.. Actually an early Porsche engine had 82.5 mm pistons and a 74 mm stroke for a total of 1,582 cc's. What made the difference in power was head design, longer stroke and two dual throat carburetors.
Just looking for more of does Kirk use a crate motor, does he modify or keep it stock, etc. obviously he would modify if it was something the customer wants so i get that but I am 99.9 percent sure there was no mods done. So just looking for anyone with a vs manual on the stock 1600cc motor or any pertinent info. Again message in to Kirk as well. Thanks again Corey. You have been a HUGE help!
