While my engine is out of my Beck speedster, I decided to install steel vw engine seal channels around the lip of the engine opening. I then installed a late vw rubber engine seal. I wanted a nice clean stock looking seal for the engine tin instead of the foam or rubber mats I often see. I previously had a thick heavy rubber mat and was not happy with the aesthetics. This looks much better.FullSizeRender

How did you attach to the body "tins"?  My tins are actually the original fiberglass pieces supplied by CMC.  I guess I could mold in a fiberglass strip and pop rivet the channel to that new lip?

The Beck already had the surrounding and shaped shelf around the engine created when built. It also already had a lip. Simply bent the channel to shape and attached to lip. I know that other makes of speedsters are different in the engines shelving.
