Ok LA Folks, I did a Yahoo Map to the Hotel from my place and it's a little much.... not being a local and all. Especially if I have the top up (for gear in the jump seat area) and no right seater. I can deal with LA without getting run over in other cars without blindspots and actually can get around when it's just crusin. But!
So I ignored Yahoo and expanded the map looking for a route with minimum highway/freeway switches. The Yahoo Had the I40/I15 Barstow run til the I 15 exit for San Diego/LA, then 17 miles, off on CA-60W, onto CA57S/CA60W Combo? then split on CA 57S, then onto CA91W, off on Beach Blvd in Buena Park and to the Marriot.
Now, wanting to simplify at the cost of a few miles.... I expanded out the digital map and see that instead of getting of I-15 at CA60W and then do the do-si-do... I could countinue south maybe 20 miles on I 15 and exit on CA-91 West and ride that baby into Buena Park and off on Beach Blvd/CA39. This routing makes too much sense to me.... which sends up a murphy flag. What is wrong with that route? Or is it a good way to make it there?
Alternatives?
Remember I'll be dropping into the valley after about 600 miles inbound from Flagstaff, top up, loaded up with gear, and will be trying to stay in a good spot without changing roads/lanes too much.
