I noticed that the one time I ran 10% ethanol gas with my mild 2110, 8:1 compression type 1 my temp gauge read about 15% hotter. I normally run 93 octane non - ethanol but had buy 93 octane 10% when I got low away from my local fuel oil dealer that carries several grades of non-ethanol. After a refill of non - ethanol the gauge returned to the normal midway position which reads 215 on a laser gun. Didn't have the gun to check the higher temp on the engine. I have never read that this would happen. Has anyone experienced this?

The stuff is crap, so much so that you have to burn more to get where your going.

If  the knock sensor hadn't been developed it would be a lot harder to burn and run on this stuff and we are running cars( most of us) that don't have these devices to retard timing and adjust fuel mixture on the fly.

This is the same kind of situation when they decided to remove lead from gasoline which also increased engine temperatures. The results were burned valves and burned valve seats.

and, hold onto your pyrometer, they want to introduce E15.
