If it was me, I'd just leave the outer dual socket in place, knock out the inner socket, grind the opening larger to fit and stick a second dual socket in place such as: http://www.autozone.com/power-...ntact-socket/600577/

Just make sure the socket you buy is compatible with 1157 bulbs. Get one like the above where the socket is solid metal all the way around. Some have open holes in the sides that water could get into. You will need to ground the metal outer socket shell separately if the main bulb housing isn't metal (chromed plastic). Depending on how you decide to mount the socket to the housing, you might need a little glue to hold it in.

Take care that you can still get the lens on since the space is smaller and the bulb is larger.

Then you just wouldn't use one of the filaments on the outer bulb.

Justin- what a great idea you mention; I never thought sockets can be sold seperately, and so cheap at AutoZone. I work on this and can either enlarge the single filiment socket hole with a half round file or my dremal tool. Before starting that I'll double check to make sure the larger bulb will allow the lens cover to fit. What a great site this SOC is, so much knowledge and experience. Thank you.
