I'm just wondering if anyone has ever seen a confirmed 100% Vintage Speedster that didn't have the torsion bar access circle (it's fake on replicas) as seen in the picture below. I haven't, but that doesn't mean that very early bodies from Vintage didn't have it.

My '95 VS had them. But it also had that 'bump' in the right front fender. Click on the pic below to enlarge picture.
I see those faux cutouts, the red piggy curly cue gen/alt wire and the silver horizontal strips on dash as VS trademarks. Oh, and pocketless door panels with up swept deco line.

Troy, they may be fake on VS cars but not on all replicas. They're real on mine. I don't know about IMs or others.

Hot glue a bit of 1/4" plywood where you want the faux torsion plate, take a hole saw and cut the center drill so it doesn't cut into the fiberglass - just use the plywood to keep hole saw centered. (Plywood only needs to be a bit larger than the hole saw pilot drill). Drill in reverse to cut into gelcoat a bit (without chipping it). Lightly sand edges of cut ant then seal with FG resin then paint ... or that's how I plan to do it on my CMC. Of course, then curl the red alternator wired around a pencil, voila.

And another thing, I'm getting tire of people constantly asking me "Is that torsion-bar access hole real, or is it a cut-out"? 
Usually they say,"what the hell is that?" and I say,"dunno, fake hole I guess".
Thanks Greg. I have drilled many thru hulls in sailboats, for depth sounders, knotmeters, etc. But my handy work was always underwater! I think I'll leave my CMC original.
