Decades ago the gentleman who was the 'best man' at my wedding made a very good, (adventurous if not sometimes precarious) living repossessing automobiles. Would I be interested in an uninsured, payment delinquent 914 with an accident smashed front end that he'd just picked up? ...No thankyou.

It turned out to be a low mileage 914-6 (in perfect condition from the dash on back) that the bank, holding the note on it, accepted $50 for...Duh!...Hell, I just spent that for two t-shirts.

Interesting that the ad describes 8-lug wheels while the photos all show five-lug. Did anyone ever race those 8-lug wheels?
