has anybody taken the tri-mill exhaust and cut a large hole in middle for center exit, and welded up the two outer ones

Im sure it could be done I have welded in dual tips on 911's and covered the single outlet. The results were great. I just comes down to how well you can fabricate and weld
what i waas wondering was just how much louder it would be? bill
It's hard to say. With duals it's always louder than a single sometimes as much a twice Really you won't know until you do it. Tack weld it up , try it and if it's too much. Go backwards and put it back to the original design.
