Anyone here have a recommendation for an aftermarket exhaust for the Porsche 2.0 liter motor with the up right conversion? I want one that looks good, sounds good and yet doesn't rust to pieces in two years...

I used an Anhendorp (BAS) 21152E stainless header, and got a custom silencer made for it at my local Powerflow dealer. The silencer is tucked up under the rear wing, and the exhaust exits rear centre.

Looks very nice but shipping to US is a killer. Wasn't Jake Raby developing one locally? I've heard him praise Tangerine Racing - but not sure if that's SS or rusting carbon steel.
I still have this one in the wharehouse somewhere... You'd still need a header, but I'll never use it for anything. Make an offer if interested.

I don't know about your particular exhaust type, but I do know that I am having a brand new one coated inside and out by Jet-Hot metallic ceramic coatings.. They have a nice video and sales information (800-432-3379, sales; tech info at 610-277-5646; or go to their website at www.JET-HOT.com. I had a motorcycle header assembly done by them. First-rate Company, IMO.

I have a new header that we just finished testing last week thats only 450.00 but its designed to be used on smaller engines and is very economy driven..
The A-1 system has been tested on engines up to 187 BHP,without losing efficiency so you have room to go later down the road.. I also offer them coated and have them in stock either way..

I have part #21149 which works with part #21152 (header). I still have the flange from the header, so if another header collected in the same location it would work. Don't know if they do.
Picture below. The longer tube is an extra piece I had BAS make for me that would allow the exhaust tip to be moved from the side to the center...

Here is a bit of R&D work that I shared back in the late Spring... I tested every exhaust system available for the TIV engine back to back on the same engine...
That week the Tangerine Super Header lost its crown to the A-1 system for making the most peak power.. I work closely with Chris Foley at tangerine Racing and since the testing he has been working hard to update his system and gain his crown back again!

Is the A-1 system's plumbing, ahead of the muffler, done as nicely as Chris'?

Ive been looking for exhaust system options for a while, Does the A-1 clear the Speedster body? Something to consider if you dont want to make cutouts to your speedy...

For a savings of $1,700 I'd take a hacksaw to the speedster's body and make the A-1 mine!
For what it's worth, each time I have changed the muffler arrangment on my car, the various boyzzz in the muffler shops nearly drop to their knees in awe of the bends and tight welding art the Tangerine did on all the headers, etc... The Quiet Can and 'beekeeper' are now resting comfortably in my 'oh shit' section of the geerage.

The "Econo Header" doesn't have as much clearance as the A-1 or the Tangerine.... For the price that we were shooting for we could not make it optimum in every facet- It's 1/2 the price of the A-1 but in my recent testing on engines up to a detuned 2270 performed within 5% of the A-1.

Maybe check TheSamba under high performance parts or the Type II section?
Depending on where your engine sits and how much trimming and how skilled you are with minor welding, I'll bet that you could fab up a sweet system based on one of the better headers/extractors sold for the later Type II 's.
Might not be the last header that you buy, but it'll be cheap and fine for the inevitable

I am lucky in that aspect as I have a set of stub pipes built for it with flanges welded on ...my welding is ok, as long as you are not shooting for cosmetics....
