Hi chaps,
im just in the process of replacing the exhaust manifold studs on a 914 type 4 engine. The question being just taken delivery of some s/steel replacements but one end of the is m8 and the other is m10 thread. The one's i'm taking out are m8 both ends. The guy l purchased them from assures me they are correct for a type4 and that they are standard on vw and porsche 1.7-1.8 and 2.0ltrs cylinder heads. If l use the m8 thread in the head the header will not fit over the m10 end. So should l just re-thread the head to take the m10 thread or just get some m8 both ends. Or can anyone me the correct studs l should use?
