This may seem ridiculous, anti porsche-esc, non-masculine : But anyways, the wife hates the noise of our Speedster and I'm looking for a modification of my quite tuck exhaust system that will silence some of that top end Rev when the dual Weber's are dumping fuel down the throats.

Anyone know of a Muffler - Exhaust modification ?

Thanks, Brad

Brad,
My A-1 sidewinder was a bit loud as well. I liked it but when you got on the pedal the sound would make your ears bleed. My wife wouldn't ride in the car until I did something.
I ended up having a Silverline restrictor put on as well as extend the exhaust pipe over to the driver side. It still sounds great when you get on the pedal but it's a bit more "civilized" so Andie will ride with me. No loss of power that I can feel.

Ernie-

Told ya.

I've got basically the same set-up as Terry, but I'm running a second full-blown Magna-Flow muffler where he's got the smaller "restrictor" (I don't like the sound of that...). I also exit on a angle out the driver's side back. We didn't compare notes, but we ended up with very similar systems.

You needn't worry about the car sounding like a Honda- it's still plenty loud, it just doesn't resonate inside the car like you are sitting in a drum. It's got a mellow idle and cruise tone, but under any kind of load it still barks. Think about the length of the exhaust system behind the dual glass-packs you ran on your Mustang in high-school-- really long, and they did a lot to "mellow" the tone until you got on it. Running the second muffler as a resonator is just more of the same. Just remember, all mufflers are not the same-- IMHO, a Magna-Flow is the way to go (it's what Tiger is putting on his new systems).
