Blake,

I have a CMC as well and when the car's exhaust system was the same type you have, I never experienced "Exhaust Odor". I replaced it with a "Less Restrictive" Design however; I'm taking for granted if you have recently inspected your Heater Boxes and they are not "Leaking Exhaust" from the internal "J-Tubes" you may consider extending the Exhaust Tips to expose them to more "Fresh Air."

I would focus upon the Heater Boxes however. Inspect the Heater Linkages and make sure they are closing the Heater Boxe "Gates". If the internal "J-Tubes" are rusted out you could be smelling exhaust that is "Migrating" from the Boxes via the Defroster Vents or Floor Vents.

Anyway, with the amount of information you are providing; this is about all I can suggest.

Good Luck,

Jack
Hi Blake. Took a look at your pics. You have the same exhaust as I do. Nice sound huh? I suspect that it would be an exhaust leak. If you had a leak, the car would most probably backfire upon deceleration. Does it do that? Have you ruled out the J-tubes?

One question, if the inlets are blocked, why have the tubes? They would need to be hooked to the exhaust system. Did you cut the holes in the Monza exhaust?

Does it smell like exhaust or burnt (a little) oil? Maybe there is a small oil leak dripping on the hot pipes.
