Yes, it is a Petri and it is being replicated for the low low price of $2000 ea. Oh, and if you want the full circle horn ring, add $425... and you still need a horn button.
Will and I were talking about this via PM. I never pulled the trigger, but it looks very similar to an original and no where near as expensive...

The seller (Chung) might still have some for sale or in the works.
If I'm not mistaken, it can be made to fit a standard VW steering column (spline).

That steering wheel is a VDM. Probably a 400mm.
Sierra Madre sells reproduction VDMs in 400mm. TebyS has an original. Looks super cool...
Someone in my local club is producing those repro full circle horn rings - I believe he's selling them through Stoddards and Sierra Madre and maybe a few more.
That grey VDM is extremely rare and beautiful.
Chung is making beautiful wheels and horn rings, the wheels are $700, horn rings are $200, he's on the Samba and Facebook. They're available in off-white and black. He's making the VDM knock-off which bolts on the Porsche steering column and one for VW's with a longer adapter as part of the wheel.
