Guys,

Speedy's doors look off color-see pic. He is a CMC child--is this something common. Both doors are the same color but show no evidence of a repaint. What gives--any fix? Sure do not match the body and I think I just saw a blue one online with the same issue.

I've not seen that happen to a gel coat CMC.  Red ones fade to pink but it can be wet sanded/polished back to red and is uniform.  Can you tell if doors or body are original gel coat?  Like in frunk or door edges?  My guess is doors were painted.

CMC only offered 9 gel coat colors.  In your tone, they had beige, white and primrose yellow. Your's look to be beige.  The tree above and grey were standard colors.  Other colors were $150 extra.

I'd try to get the doors painted to match body.

With all the years I think a good painter with a colorimeter would be able to find and mix up a test batch then you can paint a seperate sample and compare it to the rest of the body.

I wonder if it might be worthwhile to have the whole body polished up at first professionally the get the best match possible to an unfaded paint.
