A few more pictures from the Tail of The Dragon. My Grandson, Sean was especially interested in the infamous "Tree Of Shame".
It was a wonderful time but where did everyone go Saturday night for dinner?? At one point seeking the pizza place I heard Sean ask "why is everyone in someone's yard? " I'd still like to hear the answer to that one! We ended up at that great restaurant where we had dinner Friday evening and it was super again.---Jack
Hey Gordon---hope you are better---you were missed.

Yes, I solved my problem and I can tell others that if you edit a post after you post pictures you will get the x's.

So you know, I tightened up my top before this 1,200 mile trip and when I got home it was about as loose as before. I had thought that after it streches once it wouldn't strech again but not so. I'll live with the floppy top rather than go through that trauma again! It worked out ok and is ok as is.

Hope you can make the dragon next year as it was a blast, as you know from attending in the past. I would like to see it extended from just the one day of Saturday ---maybe arrive Thursday afternoon, tour both Friday and Saturday with group dinners, then travel home Sunday.
Let's see what everyone else feels. Lane made almost a week out of it which makes sense given the time to travel so far ror a few like Tom, Marty, Lane, Leon and others. For me it was an 18 hour drive both ways so a two day event makes sense for the ones driving great distances. But it was really a super trip.---Jack

Jack,

The front desk at the hotel reccomened that place. They even had a brochure they gave Sandy. There were a few people at the top of the hill standing next to what looked like an old buckhouse converted to a Bakery/Pizza oven. I guess they thought we would just stand around and eat pizza in the yard. Walked over to Tom and Lane and we decided to back out the cars and thats when we all got seperated. Hope that explains it.

Marty G.
Marty---yes--that's what it looked like---we weere at the back of 6-7 cars in that driveway and just saw everyone bail out of there to head for a real restaurant somewhere. I also was told by the Tallyho Inn that this place which turned out to be someone's home, served great pizza. That was a very funny scene with everyone having a WTF look on their faces.

Saw your post about the trip home and was glad it went so well for you. You sure have a beautiful car and congratulations on getting it done with lots of extras too like electric fuel pump, solid state dizzy, space age shifter and more. Quite a car and I know it will serve you well.

Hope to see you and Sandy at the next Dragon Run as well as some new
cars and faces.---Jack
Jack.....I was following Tom but was seperated from him....I saw his car just in time to do a panic slow down and turn....We were about 200 ft west of the BP......I sat at the corner blinking my brake lights, but you guys cruised right on by....figured you had another place scoped out....Sorry about that....By the way those are not ICT's. Hope your talking to us next year.....
Leon---well it was definitely a cluster F&%* getting the group to dinner! We completely lost you and the others---at one time we saw marty fl;y by waving and pointing ahead but the rest of the group had peeled off and went back away from Townsend. Ah yes--we used to call that the "fog of war".

I'm very happy you spotted that gas drip from my left carb--could have been time for a marshmallow roast! Glad that was resolved quickly.

Did you kind out if those carbs were Kadrons, Solex's or what?

Hi to Margaret----Jack
Looks like you guys had about as much fun as adults are allowed w/ their clothes on. I notice that the scenery, while beautiful, was still a bit on the green side. Fall has been a little slow coming, because the weather has been so nice, I guess. Same in PA for the Pumpkin Run. Teamed up w/ some (one??) real 356 -- sounds like he enjoyed the adventure too. Couple of Spyders, and a real V-dub. You guys hit it perfect.
Jack...I don't know what those carbs are, only that their NOT Webers... Sorry...

Kelly..... The colors were there at varying altitudes...We ran up to 5200 ft. and down to 1800 I think....Quite a patch work....Sounds like the Pumkin Run was a good one also....Would like to do both, but those old laws of physics keep getting in the way....
