Ok folks, I know the fall gathering that I was talking about hasn't happened, but the one my friend put on this past weekend that I invited y'all to was a blast despite the unusual heat in the mountains. We did both the Tail of the Dragon and The Rattler and all unanimously preferred the latter. It is longer and more varied that the Dragon, has a higher speed limit (55 versus 30), and far less traffic. It is also more varied with some straight sections, sweeping curves, and nice scenery. My BMW 128i was one of the least powerful cars there, but it was a blast. If I do put on an event, it will probably be very much like this one. That may have to wait until next year, depending on budget, vacation time, and personal schedule. We'll see.
