I spent a few hours at the annual, local VW Fest yesterday explaining the difference between "kit cars" and manufactured replicas.
Later Saturday evening I got a call from one of the organizer/members to inform me that I won a second place in my category (Special Interest?)...because of threat of rain, I left a little early. It was fun seeing some of the old family members.

This creation was just recently completed by an old geezer (even older than I), just because "he wanted to build one more car"...I believe he said it was a '92 Baretta engine and tranny, rwd, very nice craftsmanship.
Did you enter your VW too? You still have it? And you want to still sell the Beck Speedster?
No, Wolfgang, I can only drive one car at a time and the speedster won out again. I still do have the Beetle, but it is just collecting dust these days.
