When I had my Speedy built I went back and forth on the heater, eventualy, in SoCal, I decided no heater, when I picked the car up it had all the heater stuff installed, all my back and forth had become confused and Greg never charged me for all the heater extras. Now I realize ( Greg said all along shaking his head) that I will never use the heating ( I have heated seats too). My question is , is there any advantage/ disadvantage to blocking the fan shroud heater connections knowing that I will still have the heat exchangers around the headers? Better engine cooling? worse? leave it alone? Cheers.

Up here in Norcal - in the, uh, pleasantly dry central valley - I use the heat all the time - sometimes more in summer than winter.

In winter, if the day's too cold, we just don't use the Speedster.

But in the summer, we often leave on longer trips at o dark thirty to beat the heat later in the day. It can be 40 degrees cooler in the morning than it will be at noon. So, the heating is welcome and makes long, summer trips more comfortable.

This is especially true if we go to the coast or the mountains. On the way home, we'll leave just after breakfast. (Today, the overnight low in Monterey was 57.)

So, I vote keep the heat. You may start taking longer trips throughout our sunny state and find it helps.
