If I were to own another 356,it would look like this.
I am a James Dean nut. Porsche, 356, 550 and James Dean stuff all over the man room. I know white is boring but I can't get the James Dean 356 out of my head. So the modern James Dean Speedster. Glacier white with red Pegasus. Wide 5's with black drum skins. Black interior but with red seats to make the Pegasus horses pop. In 4 years I'll think of thousands of different combination but right now I'm thinking James Dean.

For those that like to dream and drool here is Intermeccanica's flicker site.
Yup. My current used car is Joe's Roadster on the IM flicker site. Joe had Marfan Syndrome and died suddenly of acute aortic dissection. Joe and Henry built a fine car. Hope Joe appreciates the excellent care I take with his car.
Was slate grey a 356 color?
Yep. Original 356 color (exterior).
But you get to live with it ....
Ray...what's a WaterlessSubie ?
Lookup on jay Leno waterless coolant ... Two videos do a good job of explanation of this relatively new technique of having NO water in the coolant you use ...
It is liquid at minus 40 boils at over 300degrees F and will prevent flash boil on cylinder heads and in my opinion on head gaskets on Subies ... It is lifetime liquid and you get no rust at all on any of the associated parts .. Your car will run 2-5degrees hotter but then the thermostat will do its normal job and since no hot spot can develop as water going instantly to vapor essentially has no coolant properties when you stop the engine ... But this stuff does and it won't boil away...,the system becomes unpressurized due to it not boiling to a gas state ...makes it near majnteae free ... Ray

Phil, to be really authentic are you going to include the huge door dent?
My daughter will tell you, best looking men ever James Dean and Marlon Brando. Dad is not a member of that club.
Well one consolation is that as you get whiter grow a beard and you'll look at lot more like Santa ... And who doesn't like Santa ?

I wonder, if James had lived, how he would have looked at 60.
We know what Brando looked like in his senior years.
OK, a couple of points: "Nicest car JPS ever built". Hmmm, perhaps. I have never seen that car, that I know of, but this one here ain't too shabby.
And one of the coolest cars I have ever seen I saw at Morro Bay a few years ago. Not sure who's car that is, but it was a metallic grey sort of thing, w/ brown interior, and I thought it was stunning. Seen here during a group-grope in the motel parking lot trying to fix something, I forget what exactly, and on the road. TFA car, if you ask me -- which I know you didn't..

My MG is Grey, my Pontiac is Gray. This is always fun! Speaking as an educator, I looked it up on Duck Duck Go:
"correctly stating that grEy is British English and grAy is American English..."
I bet there must be fifty shades of grey and they look best with whips....I mean straps.
Here is my 2000 Audi TT in Aviator Gray, or as I refer to it "pearl-effect primer". It does a lot of color shifting in various light conditions. It can range from very, very light gray to blue-gray to a dark violet-like gray. Black interior.
