Today I started working on Fern. Updating the old drum brakes for new discs. So instead of slow down and pray I will stop. But here is the problem. I don't know why I didn't check this earlier.

I have chrome 5 bolt rims. I ordered 5 bolt disc conversion kit. But the holes are in a smaller diameter. I called Gary at CIP1 and he said that this is a problem. I would need to change rims. I would rather not.

They don't have an adapter that goes to the 5 x 130 which are the old ones to the smaller Porsche pattern. Anyone have any ideas?

Find a machine shop and have them drill the 5X130 pattern between the existing 5 bolt pattern.

You can't really drill a 4X130 over the 5 bolt pattern, at least one of the locations will intersect and you would be stuck with only 3 wheel bolts. Probably not advisable. :)

I need to clarify, sorry. My rims are the Wide 5, 205 VW with the nice chrome wheels and chrome smoothie cap. The old drums had the 5 x 205 pattern. But the new discs (picture) is the 5 x 130 called Porsche Pattern. I would love to keep my wheels because the back is still the 205 drums and don't need changing.

So do they make an adapter that bolts into the 130 and extends to the 205 for the wheels?
yeah....looks like I'm going to go 4 bolt disc and get new chrome wheels and caps. Total $200.00 and i'll keep the Porsche rotors for whenever unlikely I change to Porsche rims.

i asked about 5 wide discs and they only make them for cars that are lowered. So I'm not going that far. Braking is braking as far as I'm concerned. So I'll have 4 bolt in the front and 5 bolt drums in the back. no worries. Mein got dis is ein bullcheiza....
SoCal Imports also sells them for less money. They've got German ATE Rabbit/Golf calipers. That's what VS installed in my car and what my friend JJr installed in his when he replaced the drums. They work great. Check his picture
