Few questions for anyone that could help.

1. I need new weather stripping for the hood. Will one work from a stock '56 356 or must I make my own? Where to buy?

2. I want to replace to vinyl top with a canvas top. Is the spacing between the snaps standard with all replica bodys? More specifically, will a Vintage top for on my CMC body?

3. I am also installing new carpet kit. I thought this might be a good time to add something to silence the engine/road noises. Is there a good product I can lay down before the carpet?

4. My speedster came with no scripts, only decals. Thus, there are no holes for the studs. I'm sure there are some good 2-sided tapes out there that could do the job. has anyone ever used an adhesive tape for their scripts or would that be considered a "sloppy job"? I never worked with fibergalss before and I'm sure it's a little tricker drilling fiberglass. But, why drill if I don't have to. Plus, I wouldn't have to worry about water.

5. I've seen what appears to be kinda like a Tonneau Cover but only covers the top when it is down (from the back snaps to about the back seat). Is ther such a cover and where can I get one?

Thanks

1. weather stripping for the hood -

just get from Home Depot/Lowes - see the build manual online for specs.

2. replace to vinyl top with a canvas top. Is the spacing between the snaps standard with all replica bodys?

Tops come without snaps or header installed - so can be made to fit. The top bows are different and hence the extra work. Do a search - was great write up on doing job.

3. something to silence the engine/road noises. Is there a good product I can lay down before the carpet?

Dynamat $$$ or ice dam material (low bucks) from Lowes/HD

4. 2-sided tapes out there that could do the job.

Tape works fine - if you do drill holes - do search it was covered - how to drill FG. What is water concern? - seal pins in with silicon sealer.

5. I've seen what appears to be kinda like a Tonneau Cover but only covers the top when it is down (from the back snaps to about the back seat). Is ther such a cover and where can I get one?
I'd try Supersoft they have a large product line I beleave that is where I found all the best looking seal stock

Also Restoration Specialties has a real good product line you may want to see

I converted into a Roadster so these product lines proved to be a must.

Anyone looking for temperd glass made to order should contact Acalpp Glass in New York They do Beautiful work and are very reasonable.

Klasse 356 has the screws and hood trim you need to put a near correct hood seal on But i liked the sftfseal type It does keep the water out of the trunk.

Sence I sold m orignal top I cant help you with that a roadste is a very different animal.

I like the Danamatt for insulating its pretty waterproof.

If youare going to install all the correct trim Plan to drill. The vw clips are hard to beat on ease of instalation on the upper side strips
