Hi all, when I bought my 356c kit from F/Fab in the early to mid 90's, I negotiated a couple of options not normally supplied with the speedster package. They were offered as (opt.?) parts in the Porsche 959 kit. One, a hard toneau cover, and the other "solid wire wheels w/simulated knock off spinners" The wheels have held up well but the 'spinners,' which are attached via a threaded pocket in the back center of the spinner for a stud which then screws into the center of the extension that slides in from behind the wheel. The spinner itself is white metal and over the years of removal the internal threads have become compromised to the extent they no longer are adequate. In keeping with a racing theme, I started safety wiring them for added protection. Last Tues, I hit a tire barrier in competiton , apparently breaking my right front 'wire'....On the way home , the spinner came off and is lost for good. I am at a loss to find another one or set , the wheels have no id and scanning the normal websites I've come up with nothing. Any help would be much appreciated....attached are a couple of pics of the wheel w/the threaded center piece and one of a wheel with the spinner still attached .

Empi makes 2 and 3 spoke spinners.
Thanks for the quick response, Wolfgang. I'm still trying to find someone from the Fiberfab "959" era that might recognize these unmarked wheels, and their unique center threaded stud attachment. The weren't offered with the 356 kit, but I persuaded them to allow me to get them. In the pic, it can be seen that the stud is threaded into a nut on the underside of the chrome extension at the wheel center; for the spinner to accept that stud into the center of the backside of the spinner.
My 356 was purchased in Nov 1988. Here's ads for the 959 from back then that show the wheels (can't really see the spinners) and also lists of options which includes the wheels.

A fellow SOCer in AL contacted me a couple months ago about a car he found from FL. He was trying to id it. It turns out to be a CMC but with many mods (like partial flares). It must have had one hell of a sound system there are "lightening" holes everywhere. Look at the wheels on it! 2 Spinner knockoffs on BBS-like wheels. His appear to be fitted with the EMPI knockoff I showed above. I've not see his new car in person yet.

Hi John,
I just saw your angled 3 spoke spinners in the Speedway motors catalog. Looks like several different styles. Hope this helps, Chris.

Good find that looks like them to me - they even have one single one for $11.99 w/3" column.
