It looks like the so-called 911 Speedster in a retro sort of way. That wasn't a terrible car. You'd have to paint this guy Guards Red, and give it the black rubber treatment and some Fuchs for it to look "pure Porsche," though. I don't think the whale tail looks all that bad on a flared car.
Gordon could do it ...

Have a friend on the left coast who bought one from Rusty Tubs. Didn't fit his CMC so very good. Had to get out the sawzall. Reglassed it to fit, not a small job but end result was fine. Was supposed to fit CMC's but looked like the flying nun - L to R contours weren't right.

I know the whale tail looks like something you would see in a circus, but I like the look of the rear seat enclosure, I heard a guy in Tennesee used to make them, Bad Boy Customs? I can't find any info. Any help would be appreciated.

He had molds and was selling these on e-bay a few years ago. Maybe not the exact style but close, price wasn't bad, shipping reasonable and well packed. Not sure if still available but worth a call.

Aaron, these are pretty nice. Don't know what they might cost however.

A couple of pictures of a whaletail coupe from 1981. I think its pretty nice, but I don't think I would put one on my car, or the fiberglass rearseat cover either. Doesn't look bad, its just personal preference. Sorry for the crappy color of the scanned magazine photos.
