The Black tonneau covers are a littel cheaper@ $429.00 w/latches & seal.
The Red is a little more expensive due to the price of the red 'gelcoat'---and is built in a limited production.

THANKS STEVE---P.S. I AM SERIOUS ASK--JERRY MCALISTER
Hi Steve,
One time owner, long time PITA here on SOC. It is a nice accessory and I'm certain it will appeal to a segment of the replicar market.

The prices bandied about in early portions of the thread seem very reasonable for an accessory that can add such a distinction to an enthusiast's car.

Just like wheel options, there is an opinion for every belly-button posting here (Yeah I toned down my usual observations with that remark) and don't be surprised when someone makes the inevitable comparison to this or that. I navigated your site just fine.

It's too modern looking for my personal replicar visions but that doesn't mean the product is without merit.
just out of curiosity - didn't you buy that speedster, whale tail and tonneau from ebay several months back? It's a very unique white speedster and i remember it well (I grabbed the photos from the ad because i liked the tonneau so much.)

I'm guessing you made a mold from the tonneau right?

also - i have tennax fasteners for my top, so the outer rim has a bunch of little "studs" sticking up. Would this cover them, or are there provisions for these little guys? (i know lots of IM's run tennax fasteres too)
here you go Steve. these are from an ebay ad i saved the better part of a year ago. ironically i saved the images because i liked the tonneau so much.

hey paul
thanks for the photos.that is a very similer car but if you notice that car has a wind sheild and other options instaled.my car has never had the first hole drilled in it.and that tonneau is much taller and has a poor body fitment.would you like one of my tonneau cover since you liked that one so much and mine is much better looking?
Steve,
Thanks the tonneau is perfect, looks great on the little car, and the red gel coat is almost a match to the red of the car. I don't know what color it is but they are so close you can't hardly tell the difference. Can't wait till I have saved the money for the double deck lid.
Thanks again for all of your help (even if you do spell funny) the fiberglass work is great.
Jerry
Steve, I think it resembles the 911 Speedster's tonneau from the 80s -- may be that's why I think it looks a little too modern. I like what you've done, and God knows fitting these things to all the different manufacturers' Speedster bodies is a bitch, but do you have the time or interest to try rounding the edges a bit more?
The sharp angles behind the shoulders look a little blocky for such a rounded car, like seeing a carmel cube in an m&m bag.
I'd suggest reconsidering those lines a little, but I like the finish work. And I really dig on the decklid. That's brilliant. What can you do in a removable hardtop?
Nice job!
CORY

I tried a fiberglass one first, and decided to make my own when it disappointed me. I have a rather ... different ... car. It's a hatchet-job, and the tonneau is riveted on, but it gave me the look and function I was after. I'd love to see what you're working on, though.
