I am considering replacing the standard VS seats in my car with something more authentic looking. I came across Fibersteel's site [ http://www.fibersteel.com/Seats.htm ] and their seats look really good. Has anyone had any experience with these seats and do they easily mount in a VS Speedster or are modifications and new rails required?

Hey Bill, I did take a sort of "hiatus". I moved to the Philly area last year and my company has been growing like crazy, so that's been taking most of my free time. I check in on the forums from time-to-time, but haven't posted much. I am thinking about having my standard 914 seats from VS replaced with Fibersteel's Speedster Outlaw seats and was hoping someone had an opinion. Their site is unclear on whether the seats even come upholstered and Russ hasn't returned my email. I heard Carlisle was great and for anyone near Philly, the Conshohocken classic car show is taking place on Saturday, June 3. I might be there for that one. Hope all is well!
What is long distance? Long distance is 4500 miles, This trip was taken in Speedster seats from Oklahoma thru AZ, up the CA coast and into Montery, Yosemite, Kings Canyon and then thru Death valley on the way home. It wasn't me, I wish it could have been but I have Roadster Seats in my Speedster. This was about a three week trip, right Jim?
As you know Dale, I broke the vaunted BG 8 Hour Speedster seat record during the recent trip... not just once, but three times! It was great seeing you and Michele and it would have been fun to have made the PCH-Big Sur to Yosemite run together. Your Roadster seats in a Speedster are very cool and correct... but you know that my friend. Next time?
