After almost stranding myself at Carlisle with the OE locking gas cap, Carey spec'd out a non-locking one for me. Then I thought, what about a fill-through cap and started searching. I offer up Permacap http://www.kleenwheels.com/vmc...cap/Permacap-PC24001

Hey, I like that! Let me have you bring me one to Carlisle next year so I can install it in the parking lot and break something again.
Well.....at least you're getting pretty good at breaking things....am I right?
Lane---your comment about "break something" was too funny. What a strange sight you were, standing in the Marriott parking lot holding one of your Weber carbs. I knew if anyone could straighten out your hitch it was you----and you did. But at first it was a really wierd sight before I got the details about it.
Another great Carlisle---good to be with you again.
I gassed up today. The pump has to go in very vertical, which is a little difficult with the Speedster hood. Plus, the pump didn't shut off and I got some backwash.
That, coupled with ease of adding ethanol treatment has me going back to a regular non-locking cap.
Sorry if I sent anybody off of my errant path :-)
I just leave my key in the cap on suggestion from Carey.
why the locking gas cap under your hood?
i know your hood doesn't lock (probably), but if they want to get the gas, they will.

BUMMER! I once had an attendant in Oregon filling my tank (required by law in Oregon) who must have been an ex-porn star. Just as the tank was about full, he pulled out the nozzle and sprayed gas all over my car!
Was your car satisfied?
