Glad to hear it Matt! As you've probably guessed, everybody liked your dad. We were always emailing back and forth about something (your dad sometimes had some great observations and comments about what was going on here) and became good friends. As Al said, it will great to see his car on the road again.

Hello again, Matt!  Hope things are going well for you and your brother.  Say Hi! to the family for me.

Super glad to see that you’re moving ahead on restoring your Dad’s car.  It’s always a big project, building or renovating one of these cars, but you have the flexibility of doing things YOUR way as you customize the car and bring it back to life.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions here, but be forewarned - Opinions can vary and we sometimes have a tendency to induce “Thread Drift” and go off-topic (I’m a big offender of this) but it’s all good and this is one of the better, more helpful sites around.

The site also has a decent advanced search function (spyglass at the top of the page) guided by keywords and/or post author that can be used to answer a lot of your questions with past posts and info.

Welcome to the Madness!

Matt,

Your Dad was a great person to know we all were blessed to have know Carl as a friend.. Anytime you need advice , that being help or sourcing parts feel free to  message me or call 7178608476  ~Alan

Good for you, Matt!! I didn't know your father - and I am very sorry to hear of his passing - but obviously by all accounts he was a terrific man and will be greatly missed.

My father's passing played a roll in my acquiring a car too: I had wanted one of these cars for years, and when my father passed away totally unexpectedly (he was not ill or infirm, but died instantly of an aneurism), I decided then and there that life was too short and unpredictable for "coulda, woulda, shoulda's", and immediately placed my order to begin my build.

Hope that you and your family get many years of enjoyment out of your dad's car. Keep us up to date on your progress, and post lots of pics!!!
