Finishing Parts WANTED TO BUY for my CMC..

Hello,

I'm looking for a number of parts to finish my CMC. Currently I have a completely detailed pan and engine and the body is mostly assembled and trial fitted. I need to purchase a number of "trinkets" that I do not have. I can order them from VS or other suppliers, but I'm happy with the replica (CMC original) parts if anyone has them for less money... Here's what I need:

-side mirrors
-upper (belt-line) stainless or chrome trim
-"Speedster" and "1600 Super" badges
-dashboard script
-dashboard handle
-door panels (black vinyl if possible)

Actually none of those part were supplied as part of the CMC kit. OK, the chrome side stip was a roll of "chrome" plastic stick on side moulding a la JC Whitney. I've found KLASSE356 is good source for scripts. Mirrors are your choice - Durant, Hella, Talbot.

Thanks Wolfgang.. That's interesting. I was under the impression my never-completed kit was incomplete, some parts missing, but it's kind of reassuring to know these parts are to be sourced separately. Thanks for the recommendation on suppliers...

The door panel vinyl is simple. Cut from open vinyl stock and wrapped over the door panels, 1/4 inch staples w/glue to hold about 2" overwrap to the back of the door. Get creative and build in door pockets.

german e bay has all of these on at the moment look at the pictures and pick what you need just bang 356 in the search as normal

All of that list can usually be found at Tweeks (now mid-america, but the www.Tweeks.com will still get you there.

They're also available from a number of other sources, but be aware that a lot of the stuff available, especially if it's cheaper than other places, is junky reproductions and won't last.

Just off the top of my head, you're looking at around $350 - $400 worth of 356 trim parts there for quality stuff. You can make the door panels (or a local auto upholstery place) for about $75-$100 each side if you get them done elsewhere.
