As much as I hate to do it, I am forced to sell, but this time for real. I was just laid off from my job after three years and no warning. I will not even put a price here as you know what you want to spend and know what the car may be worth. No reasonable offer will be turned away. If you are close enough, I will deliver it to you, I have the time to do it now.

Kevin,
Think of it this way, maybe you didn't want to sell it, but if you're like many of us here, you probably have a list of all the things you'd do different on the next one. Now you will have that opportunity, you just need to be patient for a little while. In the mean time, don't be a stranger here!

Before I retired, I had nine different jobs in eight different industries. Most of those companies don't even exist anymore! That is sometimes the price you must pay to live where you want to live.

Remember, unemployment is not 10% - it's either 0% or 100%. The difference is one good job offer. That is your target! Keep the faith, you have lots of friends here rooting for you.
Kevin, my name is Mark Mousseau from Seattle and I'm new to the site and am planning to buy a tub in the spring. I read your posts about the layoff, and that your in Charleston. Boeing has a huge presence here in the NW, and have the new factory in Charleston. I'm not sure of your career or background, but I do know that of two contract firms called Apex, and Robert Half Technologies place a lot of contract workers for Boeing nationwide. Apex may be a good place to start (depending on your skill set) to get an in w/Boeing. I don't work for Boeing (I did 25 years ago, but transitioned to Telecom), but I do know several people who placed there through both Apex and Robert Half Tech that led to full time positions. Good luck and hang in there. Best wishes. Mark
Mark? That was probably the coolest "new guy" post I've seen. Thanks for supporting this site and the one of the really terrific people on it. Welcome!

Kevin? This too shall pass, my friend. Hang in there, hang around here. Having a speedy is not a pre-requesite to the great company of the people on this site. Bringing alcohol is a must though if you don't have a car - LOL! That's why Vince gets to hang out even when he's carless, 'cause he brings Oban!

Thanks Steve. This economy has hit all of us really hard. I have many friends that have been impacted by layoffs, and it causes a lot of anxiety and stress. I've been really lucky to work in Telecom and in a pretty specialized field that is in high demand, but it doesn't hurt to share knowledge, especially when it comes to job opportunities. Apex for sure is a good starting point for Boeing. I'm not familiar w/the Charleston market, but I've seen alot of my friends at least get by on contract work until an FTE position surfaces.
Kevin, did a search this morning and here is the link for Boeing jobs in SC.

Here is the Apex contract site as well - http://www.apexsystemsinc.com/

Best of luck! Mark
