Meh.....

At least you have drain holes - I had to drill mine out!

I've been known to use the "Blankenship Cleaning Technique", but usually just at a show (and it has to be a really good show for me to do that much cleaning).  I have a "California Duster" but it found its way into the tool box on my trailer for a while and now looks really dirty - I use that when I want to impress people around me with how often I detail my car.

Usually I just give her a bath and be careful with the spray hose.  First bath of the season I totally soak the top and let it dry in the sun to tighten everything up - That may last all season but if it gets wrinkly I just soak and let dry again.

Or go to Carlisle - That usually takes the wrinkles right out.......

Yes, your wrinkles will be taken care of.

Or at least you won't care about them anymore.....

Carlisle has that kind of effect on people.

You comin' up all the way from the Chattahoochee??  You could meet up with the rest of the SE squadron in Knoxville or Louden, TN.  Jack Crosby takes (I think) I-40 to I-81, stopping near Knoxville somewhere.  Guy's got a lead foot, though....

What does one do to remove the bug crap on the front end, if a bath is not necessary for the rest of the car? I also do use the CA duster and it works great- not for the bug stuff. Not really wanting to get the whole car wet for the aftermarket chrome stuff will not hold up to moisture very well.

When I get a large quantity of bugs on the front of the car, like after drives to the coast, I use a bucket of water mixed with car wash specific soap. I generously wet the affected area with a microfiber towel and let the water/soap mixture soak into the bugs for a few minutes. After the bugs have had a chance to soak up the water I use the side of the towel with more nap, get the towel soaked again, and put a little elbow grease on the bugs. Once all the bugs are off the front end, the bumper, and the area at the bottom of the windshield under the rubber moulding I use fresh water on the microfiber towel to clean off all areas. Then I go over the whole car with a fresh towel and Surf City Detail Spray.
