Today was my first real drive. I drove to a state inspection on my way to work. They found that my upper control arm was loose. I quickly drove home and tightened the offending bolt, returned for a passed inspection sticker.

I arrived at work 1 1/2 hours late. I told my boss I had car troubles. He said the only trouble was that I drove the Speedster.

After a very cold winter and the first engine pull in 15 years, I finally have no oil leaks. I also repaired a leaking axle seal. The engine finally gets a temp reading in 30 degree weather. Much better heat.

Let's drive.
I lowered the seats about 2". Cut out the fiberglass floor pan, created new sheetmetal inserts and welded new seat brackets in.

Fixed a couple of leaks in the lines I ran for my external oil cooler.

Adjusted rear brakes and e-brake. Found a loose bolt in the pitman arm (yikes!). Brakes and steering now very crisp and responsive.

I found out last summer driving to the inspection station that there was a big opening where water would splash off the wheel and under the dash (yikes again!) I fabricated some panels to cover the opening.

Installed a "Punch Link" that connects my amps together into one continous heat sink with a funky little voltage meter and leds that dance with the bass. I also spent many nights tuning and playing with the sound system to see how loud and clear I could get it.

Owning a Speedster can be a great cure for cabin fever!
Next winter I think I will detail the engine compartment.
