Beautiful afternoon yesterday, so the wife and I took the Speedster out for a little run. After about 20 minutes of cruising around town I finally got brave and we took it on the  highway for the first time. We ran it about 10 miles west, turned around and came back home. It isn't particularly 'fast' but it is very quick, got up to 70 quick enough and ran well at that speed. Overall it ran well during our little jaunt, still need to tweak the carbs a little more, the passenger side seems to come in a bit faster than the drivers side...no oil leaks after shutting it down either which is a big plus. The ride is good, no Caddy quality...lol...but liveable.

I was surprised that there was not a lot of wind buffeting like we experience in the Cobra when the wind wings and sun visors are off the car. I'm thinking a pair of wind wings might even reduce buffeting a bit more...may have to work on making a pair out of Lexan I have and then have my buddy machine some aluminum windshield mounts for them similar to the Cobras.

Typical Northern Colorado spring weather, highs in the 70+* range yesterday...35* this morning with highs predicated in the 40's for the day...

GR. Troy Sloan in Cali makes some very nice "cruisin' windows" that plug right into the side curtain holes in the door top. I've never used them so I don't know how much wind is cut down @ 70 mph but they should remove the side blast. Could be used with a home made rear wind deflector to calm things down a bit. Do a search and it should pop right up.

Great to get that shake-down cruise under your belt! Its a confidence builder as far as having no qualms in driving that bad boy anywhere! Glad to hear you both enjoyed some top-down cruising.

Here's a couple pics from our time cruising the Rockies a few years ago out of Loveland and through Fort Collins. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around Colorado (including Denver and Colorado Springs).

Jim,

My brother and sister-in-law got married in that church in '70. And you should see it in early summer when the snows are still on the peaks...awesome! That highway is a great 'top down' drive. I assume y'all were either going to or coming from Estes Park? Either way it is one great drive.

Big Thompson canyon, hwy 34 east out of Estes to Loveland, following the Big Thompson river used to be a hoot drive in either direction from the canyon mouth up or down, not so much anymore, sadly, since the floods in '77 wiped out most of the lower portions of the old roadway and the flood a couple years ago really tore it up and the CDOT since has reworked the roadway and the river basin. Still an enjoyable drive though...just not as much fun as it used to be until you get to the upper canyon.

There was actually a wedding going on at that church while we were taking those pics. We had lunch in Estes Park and spent the night in Loveland.  We were visiting some friends, Dusty & Sharon Johnson, and had a great time checking out Pleasant Valley Saddle Works.

I think I read that some of the buildings by that church were destroyed by that flood a couple of years ago. What a shame!

On the way to CO we stopped in Moab, UT, to say "Hey'" to a few Range Rover friends 4-wheeling there. Also did a sunset cruise through Arches National Park (spectacular).
