Thanks for the pictures, Vince. I love it. Keep 'em coming.
I had to cancel on Knott's, last minute. Dad had to go to Atlanta Wed, and Daytona Friday, which left me to take care of some business this weekend. Unfortunately it couldn't be put off (and believe me I tried!!!)
I think my wife was more upset than I was, but probably for different reasons...
Can't wait to meet you guys at Carlisle, and will do my best to be a part of the 2nd annual at Knott's

CEH
there were a lot of pictures being taken, so I'm sure you will all
get to see many more in the near future.....
there were 40 + speedsters there, no two alike, Several were sold
by the end of the day. Seems like a perfect place to buy/sell one
of these babys.
The highlight for me was to finally meet some of the guys who I
previously only knew by name...I also won a bottle of wine with
a speedster on the label...might have to save that for a while...
A special thanks to Our creator (Theron) Bruce and John and anyone
else who had a hand in putting this together, The weather was
perfect and I think we showed those Cobra guys we are a force to be
reckoned with.........
Jim Ward was kinda like a cellebrity for the day, and although
he didn't win the long distance award, he did win the SPIRIT award
which was given for the person who best shows what the group is all
about....Well deserved, congrats to Jim, and a safe journey home.
I encourage all who can attend the Carlisle event to do so, not
only will it be the largest gathering of our kind but getting to
meet some of the guys is a very cool experience......
The grand total Speedster count was 57 <--- Funny same as the year 57!! What a kick ass day and we will all remember this for a long time to come. Vince thanks for the dinner ticket. And much thanks to all who made Knotts the best turnout ever. I took over 50 great pictures to share with you all. As for all the guys at the show, I will make 8x10s available for you to order very soon. I also will be making an 2005 calander with all of the best pictures from knotts

It was late in the day, I was Tired, drained really from the sun
and all the excitment of the day, I can't remember who was the long
distance or where he came from, probably Canada or Washington state..
would be my guess, at this point. I'm sure it will be posted before
to long....i think 30 miles separated them, and we joked about how Jim should have cruised around a bit..
I don't retain as well as I used to...The names started to blend together by mid afternoon, but I do remember having a really
nice time, and I must say This is a very cool group to be a part of...
Can't wait for our cruise to San Diego in May, It should be a hoot..
20-30 speedsters/spyders on the 405 heading south like a flock of
geese..........
Long distance award,

I am back home in Oregon after coming in on the silver bird last night, Broke my heart having to leave my Speedy in LA but John Steele
is going to replace the broken heart with a new one soon.

Long distance award went to Rick Davis of Chilliwack, BC. He was 1637 to Jim Wards 1607, close huh? Jim would have probably got it but Rick
played good samaritin to me on Thursday after my engine gernaded. He followed the flatbed over to JPS and then drove me to the Marriott thru the teeth of LA rush hour traffic. Many thanks to you Rick and also Paul for pulling over for me coming down the Gravevine with insane traffic buzzing inches away. What a great bunch of enthusiasts we have here.

So Rick got the Long Distance and Jim got the SPIRIT award, most deserving for both. Was this a momentous first Replica Rendezvous or what? Had a little bit of everything but probably the top moments were
Sunday afternoon with that silver tounged devil Jim Ward sweet talking a bunch of honey's to pose in and on his car. He also raised more issues when he and Theron posed in the car also, AHEM, wait for the pictures, they will be priceless!

I'm home, tired but happy. Think we pulled it off. Thanks to all that donated raffle items, help, support and just good old enthusiasm.

Bruce
Glad to hear you got home safely, Bruce... about 2:00A.M. I think I speak for Dale and myself, it was a long, long drive. At dinner we were talking about the events of the weekend, and it occured to me with all the dough I spent of late, maybe a better use of my 1776 would be as your replacement engine rather than de-camming it for my single cab?
I know John was talking about an 1835 that might be 'out there' and it certainly isn't my intent to start a 'which is better' thread here... but contact me offline if you are interested, or better yet, if you'd like to call Ted at German Car Clinic, he has all the specs and the current state of affairs. 707.648.1493

If we had font style and case options, this "Thank you" for your efforts with John Leader, would be in 72 point BOLD!
Great Job.
W0W!
Paul and Dale,

Glad to hear you made it home late but OK. Had to laugh, Henry and I were in the big limo that pulled out from the Marriott and you two guys caught the same light as we did. You guys lighted them up when the light turned green and left out town car in the haze! Loved it!

Thanks for the offer, will be talking to John Steele in the next few days and we'll look at the options. Will keep you posted!

Man o man, too much excitedment for this 'ol guy more than once a year, wait, Parts Obsolete Campout in about 6 weeks! Maybe we can get you Bay area guys up for that one. It will be big also. Hopefully the Speedy will its new heart by then!

I'm still glowing from the past weekend, thanks everyone.

Bruce and John
Hey, Howdy, Hey,

This will be short due to this friggin motel "TV Online keyboard". I'm around 870 miles down the line holed up at a Holiday Inn (A Day Or A Lifetime..... and it feels like a lifetime every time I stay at one). The Cheesecake Trio are here with me, but Holly seems too young & Jodi' scares me.... so they are in the car sleeping.. while Sharon is keeping the fires burning here in Room 227 (there's snow about 2000' above here on the slopes). Theron (The Ron) ran away in Barstow & I think I may have spotted him riding sidecar on an Indian Chief piloted by a great looking amazonian in SAS loafers, headed north for Bakersfield.

Ok, ok, ok....I'm really alone in my room watching The History Channel and looking for RCs and Moon Pies on the room service menu. I'm a happily married man, and I'm not naked......
(scratch the visual..... the horror!)

where was I going with that? It's late. I'll write when I get home..

(Gordon, my cheapo cell has a key stuck... I can call Chris predialed, and will in the a.m..... thanks Gordon!)
You all are the best!
Jim (and the girls)
