When I bought this car at the beginning of March, I said right away that I was going to commute in it when the weather was right -- and it was "casual Friday."  ;-)

So today was the day, and I'm thrilled with the small milestone.  It's 14 miles from the house, and I stayed away from the interstate.  Still, it was via a 6-lane, very busy thoroughfare.

The percentage chance of rain today is zero, but I'm still making a small spot in the warehouse to shelter it just in case!

Happy Friday, y'all.

I remember driving my '46 Ford Street Rod to work back in the mid-1970's.

My wife and I worked at a semi-secure "Gummint Installation" which had guard buildings where you get in or out of the parking lot.

Something like the second day I drove it to work we walked out to go home and the car was surrounded by security vehicles so I couldn't move it.  We walked up and I asked if there was a problem and was told by the guy in charge, "No, no problem.   We just wanted to know who the driver was so we could tell him he doesn't have a window pass and write him up."

I had totally forgotten that  - My bad, and I told him so - But the guards were cool, checked our badges, called in to see if I was a "good guy" and when told I probably was they even had a window sticker to put on, once I signed for it.

At least I didn't get any further hassles after that and they always gave me a big wave going in and out - And I would give them a blast on the pipes.

@WNGD It's a small office, so everyone knows it's my car, and it was in the spot I normally park in.  I was surprised by how many cars stopped to look at it, and even had three different guys get out, walk around it, and take photos.  It was a fun day.

Welcome to the Spyder world. It happens a lot, especially when you haven't got the time. When you are leisurely putting around on your days off, nobody talks to you. But when you get a splash of gas and on a mission, "Excuse me, what year/brand is that?"

@DannyP Yep!  I've had a '54 Chevrolet pickup for about 20 years, and folks always wave and honk -- and when I'm stopped at Lowes or a gas station, it's always questions and conversation, which I love.  With the truck, it typically starts out as, "My uncle had one of these on the farm," or, "I learned to drive on a truck like this."   The Spyder, however, seems to garner a larger cross section of the population's attention, and that's been fun.
