Doesn't that stock flat configuration 914 mill just fit that engine bay like it was meant to be there? Kinda gives me (and my budget) new hope.

Do me a favor, if anyone comments on this, DON'T mention "you know who's" name OK? I'm positive that he's running some sort of Bot that tracks any mention of his name on the forums so that he can chime in and try to sell us some shit. Anyone notice that you never hear a word from him unless he's either defending his "research" or trying to pedal some weird-assed shit for WAY too much coin.

Let's keep this one low key so that we can enjoy a nice discussion without a rank sales pitch or lecture, OK?

Oh, and don't you dare email him either . . .

I too like the type fours and have even converted a few to upright cooling using various methods. Using one in std configuration basically has one big draw back: The sucker is heavy......
there is a few things you can do though. Loose the heat exchangers and fit a decent exhaust. if you pay attention to other details you can shave a few kg's here and there as well. they respond well to a cam change and twin carbs. if its a bus engine I would look for some flat top pistons as well.
