Hello Nigel,
GOOD NEWS: YES, in a round about way..., it can be done, they'll fit a Link Pin front end / spindle.
BAD NEWS: They won't fit the Spindle of a Ball Joint front end (Spinndle, Bearing Dia. along with length issues).
GOOD NEWS: Someone else ahead of you has been thru this before.
BAD NEWS: It might cost you Four donor spindles, Two BJ and Two Link Pin.
GOOD NEWS: I've bought custom products from (Mark Johnston) before, just not his spindles, but some years back in conversation, he told me that this was a doable thing, putting LP spindles on a BJ backing! As for his work..., top rate.

Bottom line: Mark can make you a set of spindles that bolt to a BJ front end with Link Pin Spindles and you can bolt your 356 drums on and be very kool.

Price on his site: $195.00 and $25.00 for shipping + your Four spindles.

Myself, this was the route I was going to go, but as with the passing of time..., priorities changed. So I choose http://www.tatummotorsports.com/parts/partpage.asp?imgID=65 for my endeavor / moneypit.

Have a good one, David
Hi David
Thanks for the links it has given me an idea of how I can modify the drop spindles by pressing out the ball joint spindles and then machining up a pair of king pin spindles to match. Then I can press them in and job done. All sounds very easy but I bet the process will be fraut with difficulties or sould I say engineering opportunities.
Many thanks Nigel
