Hi guys,
I am in the process of purchasing a new, ivory colored banjo style steering wheel for my Intermeccanica and I have some questions. What year or size VW steering wheel hub adapter would fit a 1979 Intermeccanica. What size is my original Nardi wheel and from which points do I size it? Is it edge to edge or center of rim to center of rim? Are there any disadvantages of using a banjo style wheel (besides the cost of almost $300.00 for wheel, hub and Sun & Moon horn button)? Will I need any other electrical, turn signal or steering alterations to properly fit it? Also, what is the best color matched shift knob choice and what size would that thread be?

thank you in advance fellas,

David

David,
The only problem I have with my banjo is that the wheel itself is very large (at least 425mm from edge to edge). I am 5'10" and have to keep my knees apart to accommodate it. It's a real pain and I would love some suggestions if anybody knows to how to fix it. Regarding the shift knob, you can get replica 356 knobs off of any of the 356 parts sites (Stoddard.com ect.) and sometimes on ebay. If I recall, they come in 10mm and 14mm - you'll have to determine which one is right for your car. I got the 14mm and still had to bore it out for it to fit.
